Master studies - Available at University of Iceland

The School of Engineering and Natural Sciences offers a wide range of research related master studies. The programmes are 120 ECTS.

The goal of a Master's programme is to provide a solid and comprehensive education, deepening on the knowledge in a particular field of study, which can be applied to further studies, or in employment.

To enrol in a Master's programme at a faculty of the School, a student must have completed a recognized undergraduate programme (BS degree) in the field of specialization for which they apply, or a comparable recognized programme, with the minimum grade specified by the faculty in the course catalogue.

The programmes are two years of full-time study and the maximum length of time permitted for completing a Master's degree is six semesters from the time of enrolment.

Prospective applicants applying for master in Biology are required to find a supervisor, and have an idea for a research project before applying.

Prospective applicants applying for master in Chemistry, Physics and Biochemistry: Please note that acceptance is dependent on the availability of a supervisor within the department. 

Certified copies of diplomas on paper (not scanned or photocopies) must be submitted no later than two weeks after the application deadline.
