The Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Iceland places great emphasis on research. The undergraduate programmes immediately include the teaching of professional research methods, although actual research primarily starts in graduate programmes. A Master's degree is to a large extent based on a research project under the supervision of and in collaboration with lecturers and colleagues, domestically and abroad. The doctoral programme is a 180 ECTS scientific and technical research project leading to new knowledge and innovation.
