The rules and regulations governing PhD or MD (dr.med. doctor medicinae) studies in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Iceland and the submission of a thesis are available separately and are based on the statutes of the University. What follows is a description of the procedures after a doctoral thesis has been approved for public defense and dissertation in each Faculty.
The doctoral research training programme culminates in the submission of a thesis, which the candidate has to defend in public in the University.
