University Forum

From the University Forum 2016

The University Forum is a collegial forum for university faculties and institutions but does not have direct executive power or a mandate for administrative decisions. The University Forum works towards the development and enhancement of the University of Iceland and forms and proposes a joint strategy for research and teaching at the university. It is expected that motions approved by the University Forum will inform the strategy that the University Council and the Rector shall navigate by.

Members of the University Forum are the Rector, heads of university faculties and additional faculty representatives as per the appropriate rules, representatives for some university institutions in addition to representatives of staff, administration, students and the Minister of Education, Science and Culture.
