Landspitali - The National University Hospital of Iceland is the leading university hospital in Iceland and its main building is at Hringbraut, within the UI campus area. The close proximity to the hospital plays an important role in education of health sciences students in UI, clinical training and research.
Ambitious research
The School of Health Sciences collaborates closely with Landspítali - University Hospital and the Primary Health Care of the Capital Area. The nation's foremost health care specialists are involved with teaching and research at the school. Research at the school is very ambitious, and every day the search for new methods for prevention and treatment of illnesses continues. Plans are underway to build a new university hospital with excellent teaching and research facilities; this will become the new home of the School of Health Sciences.
