Application and Supporting Documents

The deadline for international students to apply for the graduate programme in Environment and Natural Resources is 1 February each year. Nordic citizens are exempt and may apply for graduate studies until 15 April

  • Citizens of countries outside the EEA/EFTA (with the exception of the Faroe Islands and Greenland), applying for studies at the University of Iceland, are required to pay a fee of EUR 50 (ISK 8,000) for the handling and processing of their applications. The fee is charged as part of the online application process and is payable by credit card (VISA or Mastercard) only. The handling and processing fee is NOT refundable.
  • An online application form is available while applications are being accepted. An applicant needs to create an account in the UI Communication portal in order to apply. This is done by using an e-mail you have and creating a password. Then you need to click on 'Create an account' and an email will be sent to you, where you need to confirm your identity. After that, you can sign into the Communication portal and start your application.
  • Later you can follow the process of your application by signing in to the same Communication portal.
  • The deadline for submitting supporting documents is 15 February, as specified in the confirmation email received when submitting an application.
