Three year program. 180 credits are required for the Ph.D. dissertation.
The doctoral programme is primarily based on the doctoral candidate's independent research, culminating in the dissertation.
However, the Ph.D. committee may require the candidate to take courses in addition to the research. Credits for courses are then added to the credits required for the dissertation.
An MS degree from the Faculty of Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification. The applicant is required to find a departmental coordinator/supervisor before applying. Students at UI are advised to contact the department coordinator or/and head of faculty in the field they are interested in, in order to find a supervisor. The applicant is required to have an idea for a research project before applying.
