The Dean of the School of Health Sciences governs its day-to-day operations and acts as its academic leader and spokesperson within and outside of the University. With the Dean works an efficient team of managers and experts. The Dean Temporary, or interrim Dean of the School of Health Sciences is Ingibjorg Gunnarsdottir, Pro-rector of Science at the University of Iceland. The vacancy has been advertised and it is expected that a new Dean for the School will start as of July 1, 2024. The dean of a school governs day-to-day operations and acts as its academic leader and spokesperson within and outside of the University. The dean is for example responsible for: Administration and support services Finances and running of the school and institutes under its auspices Human resources Implementation of University of Iceland policy Relations with Icelandic and international partners Quality of teaching, research and services Unity and academic collaboration The Governing Board The School of Health Sciences Governing Board addresses issues with a common interest of the school and supervises its finances, management and quality. The governing board is comprised of the dean of the school, heads of faculty and one student representative.
