Summer courses are a good way for students to take a part of their studies abroad and they can be an ideal opportunity for those who are not able to go abroad for a semester or the academic full year. Students who are interested in getting credits from summer courses transferred back into their UI degree must consult their faculties before departure. Students fill in a learning agreement that is approved by the relevant faculty. The International Division oversees applications and nominations to the following summer programmes: Stanford University, USA Columbia University, USA Nordic Centre, Fudan University, China Nordic Centre India, Hyderabad and Bangalore, India The International Division also nominates students to participate in the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF) at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) Summer programmes in the Nordic Countries – Grants It is possible to apply for grants for summer courses at universities in the Nordlys network. The grant is a max of 70 € per week and the travel grant is a max of 660 €. If the host university requires students to be nominated please contact the International Division - outgoing.europe@hi.is.
