The lockers are located on or near the University Centre (Háskólatorg). The rental fee is ISK. 1,500 per semester. For the school year 2023-2024, the total rent is ISK. 1,500 as the lockers will only be rented for part of the autumn term. Unfortunately, there is a limited number of lockers for rent, so the rule applies on a first-come, first-served basis. The service desk at University Centre (Háskólatorg) takes care of the rental agreement, and payment and hands out a key to the locker. Please note that UI cannot be held responsible for valuables that students keep in rental lockers. Rules and Agreements. Information about renting a locker can be found by checking out the following website or visiting the Service Desk at Háskólatorg. https://www.hi.is/nam/thjonustubord_haskolatorgi The lockers are only available for students at the University of Iceland. To get keys to a locker you would have to visit the Service Desk at Háskólatorg to get those handed over as well as to give the necessary information. The rent for each locker is 1,500 kr. for each semester. The keys to each locker should be returned at the end of each semester. Students should return them by the 20th of Des. At the end of the Fall semester and by 31st og Mai at the end of the Spring semester. The date for this for the Summer semester is the 20th of August. If a key is not returned on time an extra 1,500 kr fee will be charged. When returning the key the locker should be clean and empty same as it was when you received it. If a student is found to have destroyed or damaged a locker they will be charged for repairing that damage whatever that might be. If a locker is broken into, HÍ cannot be held responsible for items in the locker. HÍ reserves the right to search any locker if deemed necessary if there is a safety concern or if it is suspected that an illegal substance might be stored in the locker. All administrative work and responsibility surrounding the keys and lockers lies with the Service Desk at Hákólatorg. Litlatorg rental The HÍ Servicedesk is now offering up Litlatorg for rent to full-time staff with both HÍ and FS for private events. In this case, we are mostly talking about events such as confirmations and others like that. All food and drink for these events should be ordered through HÁMA and all events need to be over by 9 pm. Rules and rental fee Litla torg is only rented out to permanent staff at the University of Iceland and the Icelandic Student Services. The space is only rented out until 9 pm, at the latest. The space is rented as is. If employees want to move tables or chairs they must do so in collaboration with the building supervisor. We are trying to protect the tables and the floor as much as possible. The space is not rented out during the examination period or one week before exams until the end of the makeup examinations. Staff is required to leave the space as they found it; this includes cleaning. The University provides equipment for cleaning. If the event is outside the working hours of building supervisors; the Háma staff is responsible for everything that takes place at the event. On occasion, outside of regular working hours, the Háma staff will take care of the space and lock up after the event. The closing time of the sliding door needs to be timed before the event. Please send an email to haskolatorg@hi.is. It is important to take care of this well in advance. Please do not hang anything on the walls All refreshments must be purchased from Háma. Háma will remove all leftover refreshments, plates, and other items they brought into the space. Litla torg is only rented out when the dates do not clash with University operations. The rental fee is 40,000 for half a day and 80,000 for a whole day. An additional 10,000 ISK is charged for each hour that exceeds 8 hours. The cost for the supervisors' extra hours is additional. Furthermore, an additional fee of 25,000 will be added if the space is not left the way it was. The cost for a microphone and the screen is 5,000 each. Bookings of the room follow the general rules for other rooms at the University. Autumn bookings are available from 1 July and spring bookings after 15 December.
