The future of education in the age of AI at Menntakvika
How are human rights, democracy, sustainability and education in the spirit of global civil consciousness linked to artificial intelligence? What is the connection between active reading in middle school to smartphones? These questions and many others will be answered at the annual conference of the University of Iceland’s School of Education, Menntakvika, taking place on 26-27 September.
The conference is held in the coming premises of the School of Education at Saga, Hagatorg, and in the main building. The conference is open to all and free of charge.
The conference is an important forum for experts, academics and people working in the field to learn from each other, share knowledge and promote cooperation in the field of educational sciences.
This year's theme is the future of education in the age of artificial intelligence with a total of 210 talks and 55 conference seminars. In addition to the subjects listed above the topics include children's welfare; artificial intelligence in teaching, taste buds’ training, physical activity and health among young people; preschool and leisure activities from various point-of-views, and schools promoting welfare.
Susan Gollifer, assistant professor at the University’s School of Education, is among the lecturers at the conference and will talk about Human rights, democracy, sustainability and global citizenship education in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI): Pedagogical and philosophical insights.
