Calling for original and innovative ideas for the University of Iceland's with great potential for utilization and that could potentially benefit society or industry. The cash prize for first place is close to three million krona.
The competition, formerly the University of Iceland's Applied Science Prize, has been held at the University for over 20 years and is open to all students and staff at the University of Iceland. The award winners in the past have come from all of the University Schools.
Deadline for proposals is Tuesday 31 March 2020.
This year, prizes will be awarded for the best idea in four categories:
Health and well-being - cash prize of 1.5 m krona.
Technology and progress - cash prize of 1.5 m krona.
Society - cash prize of 1.5 m krona.
Motivation - cash prize of 500 thousand krona.
The overall winner in the competition, from one of the above mentioned categories, receives an additional cash prize of 1.5 m krona.
