New International Students welcomed

""

Orientation Days for International students at the University of Iceland will be held from 22 to 24 August.

The aim is to introduce students to each other as well as to the support services offered, how to get around campus, and to help them adjust to a new culture.
The programme includes various interesting courses, organised walks around campus, a reception with music and light refreshments, School welcome meetings, and events organised by the Student Council.

The course, The Keys to Success at the University of Iceland, organised by the UI Student and Career Counselling will be available, where students are given pointers on how to succeed in their studies at the University, and enjoy their stay in Iceland. If you want to master the native tongue you can sign up for the course Icelandic in 90 minutes! The National and University Library will, furthermore, give a glimpse of what they have to offer.

All new international students are invited to a welcome reception 23 August at the University Centre. Students will be addressed by the Rector of the University.
The Student Council's international committee takes students on a guided tour around the Campus ending in barbecued Icelandic hot dogs and music. The programme will then be continued in the Student Cellar.

Orientation in each of the five University Schools is a part of the programme, and dates and times, along with other events, can be seen here
