All University of Iceland buildings closed if strike goes ahead

""

Due to the potential Sameyki strike on 9 and 10 March, staff and students at the University of Iceland are asked to bear the following in mind:

•    If the strike goes ahead, University of Iceland buildings will be closed both days, including classrooms and meeting rooms.
•    University staff and students who have a key or access card will be able to get to work, but are not permitted to open doors for people who do not have a key or access card.
•    It will not be possible to hold meetings with external parties on University of Iceland premises, since the buildings will be closed. This also applies to staff and students who work in a different building from the planned meeting location.
•    The University Cinema will continue to operate as normal, since the staff there will not be striking.
•    The University of Iceland Gymnasium will be open 7 am – 2 pm both days, on the condition that Efling staff are working.
•    With regard to teaching on individual courses, please refer to the relevant faculty home page.
