1 m minimum distance in teaching and reading spaces

1 m minimum distance in teaching and reading spaces - Available at University of Iceland

Jón Atli Benediktsson, Rector of the University of Iceland, sent the following message to University staff and students today (12 January 2022):

"Dear students and colleagues.

The Minister of Health has issued a new regulation restricting school activities due to COVID-19. There is one important change in the regulation from the previous regulation. In the new regulation a distance of 2 meters in teaching and reading spaces is required, but if such a distance is not possible, a minimum distance of 1 meter must be maintained with a face mask.

The rules for lab. teaching are unchanged from the previous announcement, i.e., face masks must be worn if 2m distance is not possible.

The new regulation will take effect at midnight, 13 January 2022"

Best wishes,
Jón Atli Benediktsson, Rector
