Students from the EU/EEA may apply for an Erasmus+ grant to undertake a traineeship or work placement at the University of Iceland.
Traineeship last for a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 12 months.
Please note that students must apply for the grant to their sending institution, NOT to the University of Iceland.
In order to qualify for a traineeship, students must be enrolled in a degree programme at an institute of higher education. If the traineeship forms an integral part of the curriculum, the University of Iceland awards students ECTS credits for the period of the traineeship. For traineeships that do not form part of the student‘s curriculum, the University awards a certificate of recognition.
Currently, the University of Iceland does not provide a list of available traineeships and there is no official application process. Instead, traineeships are undertaken on a case-by-case basis.
Students wishing to undertake a traineeship must contact the relevant department or a professor/researcher of their field of interest and request a work placement. Requests should include a statement of purpose and curriculum vitae.
Please note that placements cannot be guaranteed.
