Psychological counselling

Katrín Sverrisdóttir, Guðlaug Friðgeirsdóttir, and Ásta Rún Valgerðardóttir are clinical psychologists at the UISCCC, all in part-time positions. They provide a short-term, individual counselling in psychological problems. Please note that it is required to make an appointment in advance by sending an e-mail to:  

In addition, the Department of Psychology runs a Student Psychology Clinic where post-graduate psychology students offer psychological services to university students and their children (under the age of 18 years old) under the supervision of licensed psychologists. Studying at a university is a time of change for an individual. Events such as moving away from home or starting a family are examples of such changes.  Students can also experience their academic studies as being quite demanding. These factors together or separately can lead to a period of emotional or psychological distress and be disruptive while studying.
