Dr. Kristine Engemann Jensen, Guest Researcher at Ecoinformatics and Biodiversity, Aarhus University & Biologist at SLA, nature-based design studio gives a lecture entitled Nature, mental health and urban planning: using remote sensing for healthier cities.

Abstract:

A larger and larger share of the world’s population now lives in cities. While living in cities offers access to good sanitation, health care, nutrition, and education, it has also been associated with adverse health effects. Contact with nature has long been linked to better mental health, and greening of cities may also make cities healthier. Based on satellite data we can map the presence of green space in cities and estimate the correlation with the risk of developing adverse mental health.

The talk will be streamed on Zoom
