Seven students headed to Stanford this summer

Seven students headed to Stanford this summer - Available at University of Iceland

Seven University of Iceland students will be studying at Stanford University this summer as part of the Stanford Summer International Honors Program. UI is one of just a few universities in the world able to send students to take part in this incredible eight-week program.

The seven students are:  Agatha Elín Steinþórsdóttir, biochemistry and molecular biology student; Ásgerður Erla Haraldsdóttir, psychology student; Daðey Ásta Hálfdánsdóttir, chemical engineering student; Iðunn Andradóttir, medical student; Kristján Dagur Egilsson, applied mathematics student; Ómar Ingi Halldórsson, electrical and computer engineering student; and Urður Andradóttir, medical student.

Since 2010, the University of Iceland has been partnered with Stanford University, which is one of the best universities in the world and offers a broad range of subjects.

This is the eleventh year that University of Iceland students have had this opportunity to spend the summer studying at Stanford University. The summer program enables students to get to know the unique scientific community at Stanford and the credits they complete will also be transferable to their academic record at UI.

The seven students visited the Rector's Office recently, where they met Jón Atli Benediktsson, Rector, and Hafliði Sævarsson, project manager at the International Division.
