Abstract
Quantum information is a research topic that has grown in popularity in recent years. Started as a theoretical field, it is based on a computing paradigm that is profoundly different from classical computation. Now, technological advancements have led to the development of the first quantum processing units (QPUs). The talk will give a brief overview of the fundamental aspects of quantum computing and its potential, with a focus on data-intensive Earth observation applications.
