On the 11-12th of May, representatives from the University of Iceland and other Aurora Universities will attend the Aurora Spring Biannual 2022 in Innsbruck, Austria. The biannual conference is hosted by the University of Innsbruck.
The conference agenda is exciting, providing an overview of the success achieved within Aurora in the past 18 months, and looking ahead to the coming years. Jón Atli Benediktsson, Rector of the University of Iceland and Aurora president will speak at the opening ceremony. alongside Tilmann Märk, Rector of the University of Innsbruck, and Georg Willi, Mayor of Innsbruck.
In addition, Tetyana Kaganovska, Rector of Karazin Kharkiv National University in Ukraine, will attend the Biannual and give a speech. The University of Iceland along with other Aurora universities has provided assistance to Karazin University in dealing with the extremely difficult and tragic situation following the invasion in Ukraine. These actions will be presented.
The agenda also includes a high-level panel discussion on the societal impact of research and innovation, with speakers providing a range of perspectives. Moreover, numerous interesting presentations from Aurora universities students and staff take place. We would like to draw special attention to presentations by Alma Ágústsdóttir, the international officer of SHÍ and President of the Aurora student council, and Toby Wikström, from the Graduate School.
