Thirty-seven new students at the University of Iceland, coming from 15 upper secondary schools across the country, were awarded grants from the Student Achievement and Incentive Fund in a ceremony in the Aula yesterday. The recipients come from 15 different upper secondary schools across Iceland and are now starting on almost 30 different study programmes.
The award ceremony took place in the University of Iceland's Aula for the second time. Only the grant recipients, rector and the fund's board were invited to attend in order to comply with the restrictions on mass gatherings set by the public health authorities. However, the ceremony was live streamed for the students' families and anyone else who wanted to watch.
