Registration open for summer courses at the University of Iceland

Registration open for summer courses at the University of Iceland - Available at University of Iceland

The University of Iceland offers summer courses for the second year in a row that are suitable for those currently enrolled at the University; those planning university studies, and those wishing to improve their skills. Registration is currently open for the courses offered this summer.

The summer courses are offered in good collaboration with, and support of, the Icelandic government to react to the social conditions in the aftermath of the corona pandemic; to counteract unemployment, and strengthen education.

All of the five University schools offer summer courses. Many of the courses are open to all, whilst some are especially tailored to the current student body and others planning university studies, or those wishing to improve their skills.

The first courses begin in early June and teaching stops in August. Students are encouraged to register by 1 June, even though the deadline for some courses can possibly be later.

Those who wish to take courses at the University of Iceland during the summer but do not plan on further studies, pay 3,000 Ikr registration fee for each course. Students currently enrolled at the University of Iceland, however, do not pay for summer courses and the same applies to University students who have paid the registration fee for the academic year 2021-2022.

The wide variety of courses on offer can be found on the University website with answers to FAQs regarding the arrangements of summer courses.

The University of Iceland furthermore offers numerous summer jobs for students in addition to summer studies. An overview of jobs can be found on the Directorate of Labour's website.
