The 20th Biomedical and Health Sciences conference will be held on 2 and 3 June 2021 both digitally and in Hilton Reykjavík Nordica Hotel. The conference is organized by the University of Iceland School of Health Sciences and is the largest event in biomedical and health sciences in Iceland.
On this year’s programme are around 250 research presentations, including 65 in English. The topics cover most aspects of biomedical and health sciences, including everything from molecular biology and genetics to rehabilitation, internal medicine and mental and physical health during the lifespan. Many sessions are interdisciplinary in order to connect people from different fields.
Guest lectures
Two interesting guest lectures will be in English. Dr. Adam Cheng, Professor of paediatrics at the University of Calgary and a specialist in simulation will speak about simulation in health sciences. Dr. Örn Almarsson, chemist and chief technology officer at Lyndra Therapeutics, will speak about the development of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine, which he took part in.
Diverse sessions
The programme includes 46 session in various fields of biomedical and health sciences. Including 13 entirely in English.
The English session will for example focus on Covid-19, Immunology, Public Health, Genetics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Children, Cancer, Psychology, Molecular Biology, Movement Science, Cardio- Vascular Diseases, Pharmaceutical analysis and Health Care.
The official programme will be released late May.
Everyone is invited to participate in the conference and there is no registration fee.
