We are a small but close community with expertise that ranges across all these periods and a special emphasis on practice-based research. The department comprises three full-time faculty members alongside a larger group of sessional teachers drawn from the wider profession of archaeology, with links to the National Museum, the State Heritage Agency and Independent research organizations. Working in small groups and classes closely with the teachers, you will be encouraged to develop critical and independent research skills and opportunities to conduct fieldwork as part of your dissertation. In a country famous for its environmental and cultural heritage, Iceland offers an unrivalled context in which to develop your archaeological career.
