Record number of presentations at Menntakvika

The latest research from the field of education in Iceland will be presented at Menntakvika, the annual conference of the School of Education at the University of Iceland. The conference will be held online on the 1st and 2nd of October. This year, the conference has more content than ever before with 340 presentations in 87 online seminars.

Every year, Menntakvika brings together a large number of educational professionals and others who are interested in education. Research on a variety of topics in the field of educuation will be presented: immigrants and education; children's health and well-being; creativity and technology centers in school work; design and innovation; the influence of arts and crafts, etc.

Recordings of the conference presentations will be available on the Menntakvika website. People can also participate in seminar discussions via Zoom. Conference guests can send written questions and comments to speakers during the seminar.

The Menntakvika keynote from Guðrún V. Stefánsdóttir, Professor of Disability Studies at the University of Iceland, will be livestreamed on Friday, October 2nd at 12.30. The talk, which will be held on the International Day of Developmental Therapists, will focus on persisting and new challenges in the education of developmental therapists. Policies and current issues in the lives of disabled people will be discussed along with the main challenges in the field, a vision for the future, and how the impact of developmental therapies can be seen at the School of Education and in a more inclusive society.
