Dear applicant, Thank you for applying for an graduate programme at the University of Iceland. We would like to point out that you need to stay up to date with the progression of your application under the “Application – overview” tab in the University of Iceland Communication Portal. You can access the Portal using your email address and the password you created when you applied for study at the University. It is essential to carefully read the drop-down windows below, as they contain important information for the process of your application. Supporting documents Transcripts from the latest educational institution attended should be certified copies (stamped and signed) and sent by post to the address below: University of Iceland Student Registration, University Centre Sæmundargata 4 102 Reykjavík Supporting documents can also be submitted to the Service Desk. Graduation transcripts with electronic signature sent directly from the relevant university to admission@hi.is are also accepted. Photocopies or scanned transcripts are not valid documents. Applicants who are finishing or have finished an undergraduate programme at the University of Iceland after 1980 do not need to submit certified transcripts and diploma from that study. Deadline for submitting supporting documents: All pertaining documents must be received by the University no later than 22 April for the autumn semester and 22 October for the spring semester. Here you can find a list of the supporting documents needed for your application. If you need further information regarding supporting documents, please contact the relevant faculty. Applicants with a citizenship other than Icelandic (outside of the Nordic countries) starting in the autumn semester, need to submit a history of residence in Iceland, form C-122 from the Iceland Register office. Application processing Applications will be processed as soon as possible or at the latest 4-6 weeks after the application deadline, if all supporting documents have been submitted. The response to your application will only appear digitally in the Communication Portal, under the “Applications – overview” tab. You can access the Portal using your email address and password you created when you applied for study at thee University of Iceland. Payment of the Registration fee and username and password for Ugla If your application is approved, the UI registration fee must be paid to confirm your enrollment. You pay the registration fee under the „Application overview“ tab in the Communication Portal and you can pay with a credit card (debit or credit) in one payment or with a card loan. The deadline is 4 July for the autumn semester and 6 January for the spring semester. The registration fee is non- refundable. Username and password for Ugla If your application is accepted and you have paid the registration fee, you can get a username and password for Ugla, the UI intranet, provided you have an Icelandic ID number (kennitala). You do this under the “Application overview” tab in the UI Communication Portal, using the email address and the password you created when you applied for the studies at the University.
