Abstract

The textbook covers basic elements of enumerative combinatorics with an emphasis on generating functions. The material includes an introduction to some standard mathematical concepts such as combinations, permutations, strings, sequences, series, recurrence relations and of course generating functions. The objective was to write a textbook on a subject that is often neglected in upper secondary schools, with minimal use of mathematical jargon, to make it more accessible for a younger audience.
