The Viking and Medieval Norse Studies Programme is run by the University of Iceland, Aarhus University, University of Copenhagen, University of Oslo, and the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies.
The University of Iceland is responsible for coordinating the programme and handling student applications.

Steering Group
The Viking and Medieval Norse Studies Programme is governed by a Steering Group consisting of scholars from all the participating institutes. The Steering Group is responsible for the development, financing, promotion and running of the programme. It also seeks to maintain and enhance the quality of the programme. In that effort, the Steering Group receives external advice on the quality and direction of the programme from the International Advisory Panel. The Steering Group meets at least once a year to review the programme structure and curriculum and to make proposals for improvements.
The Steering Group is responsible for reviewing student applications and makes final decisions about admission.
