Can I apply even though the deadline has passed? Yes, you can apply for an Erasmus+ traineeship grant all year round; however, those who apply before April 1 for the upcoming school year have priority. While funding is available, all those who apply will be allocated a grant, provided that all the conditions for the traineeship are met and all required documentation submitted. Graduating students must apply for the grant no later than two months before graduation. Applications received after that deadline will not be processed. When can I expect an answer to my application? Those who apply before April 1 can expect a response at the end of May to the beginning of June. Others who apply after the deadline will be answered as soon as possible thereafter. When is the grant paid? The first payment of the grant (70%) is paid approx. two weeks before departure, provided that the following documents are submitted to the International Division at least 5 weeks prior to scheduled departure: 1) The signed contract for the awarding of the grant, 2) The signed Student‘s Declarating, attached to the acceptance letter AND 3) The student must have completed the online OLS language assessment, if applicable. The second allocation of the grant (30%) is paid after the student‘s return and after submitting the following documents: 1) The signed document "After the Mobility" (attached to the Learning Agreement) 2) The Erasmus + final report, which is automatically sent to the student's email address at the end of the traineeship. The processing time for grant payments generally takes a few days. Please note that delays may also occur during summer and Christmas holidays. Where can I go for a traineeship? You can apply for a grant for a traineeship in any one of the Erasmus+ participating countries, which include most EEA/EU countries and their territories. Traineeships in Iceland or in countries outside the EU / EEA are not applicable for Erasmus+ funding. I have not received the Erasmus + final report - why? It is sent automatically on the closing date of your traineeship as stated in your contract. It is not possible to receive it earlier, even if requested. If the report has not been received within 24 hours from the closing date of your traineeship, please contact the International Office. Who can apply for the Erasmus+ traineeship grant? All registered students at the University of Iceland can apply for the Erasmus+ traineeship grant. Students of Diplomas can apply for a traineeship grant abroad if the Diploma is at least 60 ECTS credits. However, a School/Faculty approval for traineeship stay is required. facebooklinkedintwitter
