Erasmus+ grants outside Europe

Since 2015, teaching and other staff exchanges to countries outside Europe have been a part of the European Union education programme. This part of the programme, referred to as "Erasmus+ International Dimension in Higher Education", differs somewhat from the traditional Erasmus+ programme within Europe. Teachers can also apply for grants for their students for student exchange. Please note that the European Commission has decided to cancel calls for proposals for KA107/ICM grants in the year 2021. Call for applications for 2021 has therefore been cancelled.

Countries are divided into regions based on continents, and the grant sum is allocated for each region separately. Grant sums can vary greatly within each region.

All universities in Iceland can apply for funding for all regions and thus compete for funds.

Applications from universities are received annually. One application is submitted for all grants for all regions. The annual application deadline is 15 January.
