The IT Division operates 14 computer labs on campus. Computer labs are also located in the University buildings in Stakkahlíð and Skipholt. All students enrolled at the University of Iceland are allocated a personalised student dashboard on the Ugla intranet, where their registration status, information from lecturers, and other details are accessible. Further information and instructions are available on the IT Division website. You find information on available computers in Ugla, as well as timetables for computer labs. Study facilities Study facilities at the National and University Library of Iceland in the Þjóðarbókhlaða include around 400 desks, in addition to numerous desks with personal computers, microform readers, and work stations in the Audiovisual Department. Furthermore, there are group workrooms on levels 3 and 4. The University Centre (Háskólatorg) and Gimli house good study facilities for students, as well as a computer lab. The library in Stakkahlíð, which is a specialised library in the field of pedagogy, education, and care, also provides study facilities and desks with personal computers. National and University Library branches and specialist libraries in other University buildings also provide a few seats reserved for students. Additional study facilities in student housing at Eggertsgata are available for residents. Good facilities are available in various buildings on campus; especially in Oddi, Gimli, Askja and Stakkahlíð. Group studies Rooms for group study can be booked once a week for up to three hours. If two or more rooms are booked during the same week, a charge will be applied to all requested rooms. Contact kennslustofur@hi.is to book a room. When submitting a booking request, students are required to provide their name, ID number (kennitala), the course title and number, as well as the names of all participants in the group. The student requesting the room holds responsibility unless stipulated otherwise. The responsible coordinator ensures that the group treats the space with respect, does not bring in food, and leaves the room in an exemplary state, i.e. tables and chairs as they were found, doors and windows closed, projectors turned off. Please note that requests to use rooms must be sent at least 2-3 hours in advance, assuming normal working hours. Further information Libraries and bookstores facebooklinkedintwitter
