	Bryan Ricardo Marini Quintana (Puerto Rico) Humanities-Interdisciplinary Studies in Creative Writing, BA, University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, 2021 I completed a degree in creative writing, studying Western Culture. My main fascination has always been how societies forge an identity and give life meaning through stories. For my thesis, I would like to focus on how Norse Mythology influenced the modern myths.
	Jennifer Laura Stewart (Canada) Art History, MA, Queen’s University 2022 History, BA (Honours with Distinction), Ryerson University, 2020 The focus of my major research paper for my MA in Art History was the use of the female allegorical figures of Ecclesia and Synagoga in medieval English art. I am interested in applying my knowledge of European art history to the manuscripts of medieval Iceland.
	Jiayun Nie (China) Icelandic, BA, Beijing Foreign Studies University, 2022 Icelandic as a second language, exchange student, University of Iceland, 2021 As an undergraduate, I studied Korean first but changed my major to Icelandic (mainly modern Icelandic). My BA thesis is titled “Víkingaferðir í Laxdælasögu og Gíslasögu” (Viking expeditions in Laxdæla saga and Gísla saga). I hope to broaden my knowledge of Old Icelandic, and I also look forward to exploring more literature (sagas and poetry) through the Medieval Icelandic Studies Programme.
	Thais Gomes Trindade (Brazil) Foreign Languages and Translation, MA, University of São Paulo, 2020 Teacher training degree, University of São Paulo, 2018 Literature and Languages (English and Portuguese), BA, University of São Paulo, 2016 Languages, exchange student, University of New Mexico, 2015 I have always been interested in languages, culture, and their dynamics through translation. In my exchange program, I learned about the Prose and Poetic Eddas and started researching the translation of the Prose Edda to Portuguese. In my masters, I developed annotated translations of Thor's journey to Geirrøðargarðar in Snorri Sturluson’s Skáldskaparmál from Old Icelandic to Portuguese, considering various translation theories and approaches. Now I am eager to deepen my knowledge of Old Icelandic and Medieval Icelandic Literature, especially poetry.
