Abstract:

"The generation of consistent and frequently updated land cover maps is of crucial importance for monitoring the surface of the Earth. We are working towards a scalable framework aiming at continuously updating such maps at continental scale with the help of machine learning and HPC systems.
The assessment of the validity and reliability of the framework are still open questions lying in front of us as we’re starting to address several scientific and technical challenges."
