Imagine Forum: Bridging Divides and Fostering a Dialogue for Peace
Save the date! Our annual conference, The Imagine Forum in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Iceland will take place in Iðnó on October 10.
The Forum will feature keynote addresses from distinguished experts and dynamic panel discussions with practitioners, researchers, and high-level officials working within their own countries and as international supporters of peace-making efforts.
How can we build peace in an increasingly hostile world?
As conflicts and global tensions escalate at an alarming pace, with the rise of autocratic governments and democratic backsliding, the foundations of global institutions and international law, established after 75 million people perished in World War II, are now being shaken.
There is an urgent need for a reflective and honest conversation on the efficacy of current peacemaking strategies and the dynamics of external support. How can we operate in a global environment where established goals and norms are eroding? Is advocating for inclusion and participation, among other current approaches, sufficient in today's context, or do these methods need to be reconsidered? And how do we prepare for worsening conditions?
Among speakers are:
Svitlana Zalishchuk, Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine on European and Euro-Atlantic integration
Madame Binet Diop, Special Envoy of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission on Women, Peace, and Security
Dag Nylander, Norwegian Centre for Conflict Resolution (NOREF)
Chris Coulter, Deputy Executive Director of the Berghof Foundation
Rabab Baldo, Gender Activist, Former Senior Gender & Inclusivity Advisor, Office of the IGAD Special Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan
