On the Move – Iceland in a world of movement
The movement of people has become one of the most debated issues in contemporary Europe, often ignoring that mobilities of people and objects have been fundamental in shaping Europe throughout the centuries. This panel focuses on different manifestations of people and objects on the move, and what they say to the present.
The event is held in relation to the exhibition Faces on Display at the National and University Library of Iceland, curated by Kristín Loftsdóttir and Anna Lísa Rúnarsdóttir at the University of Iceland. The exhibition closes on the 27th of October.

• Unnur Dís Skaptadóttir, Professor of Anthropology: Young mobile tourism workers
The chair of the panel will be Ólafur Rastrick, Professor of Ethnology, University of Iceland. After the presentations, light refreshments will be served and interested attendees are invited to walk with with Anna Lísa Rúnarsdóttir through the exhibition.
