Nordic Green to Scale for Cities and Communities

Around 70% of global greenhouse gas emissions are linked to cities and the everyday life of their residents. At the same time, cities are well positioned to create significant emission reductions.

The Nordic Green to Scale for Cities and Communities analyses proven climate solutions from Nordic cities and municipalities, and the emission reduction potential of implementing the solutions more widely within the Nordic countries. The Nordic Council of Ministers has included Green to Scale project in its Prime Ministers’ Initiative Nordic Solutions to global challenges. The Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra serves as the project secretariat and University of Iceland is represented in the steering group.

At the event the Green to Scale for Cities and Communities report will be presented and Nordic climate solutions for Iceland discussed.

Mariko Landström will give her talk in English, other talks and the panel discussion will be conducted in Icelandic.
