Do you want to see bugs up close? Insects are the most diverse animal species on earth and have increased in Iceland in recent years for various reasons. Gísli Már Gíslason, insect specialist from the University of Iceland, enlightens participants on the world of insects.

Bring a container and a magnifying glass if you have one.

The tour is a collaboration between the Icelandic Touring Association and the University of Iceland. Hiking trips with Science tips (Með fróðleik í fararnesti).

Participants of all ages have enjoyed these hikes with the University of Iceland and the Icelandic Touring Association in recent years, which combine the experience and knowledge of the tour guides with the knowledge of academics. The aim is to create interest in science and outdoor activities, especially children and young people, with this welcome alternative.

Participation is free of charge and everyone is welcome. No need to book - simply show up.
