The Aurora universities offer many exciting opportunities for their students and staff across the universities to develop their skills. In addition there are opportunities to impact the development of the Aurora collaboration. Below you find information about upcoming opportunities and don‘t hestitate to participate. Students Do you want to gain international experience in your studies? Find out about courses at Aurora universities and other opportunities offered to students. Below are listed upcoming opportunities, but you can also find a complete overview of courses at the Aurora universities in the Aurora course catalogue on the central Aurora website. Other opportunities such as seminars, workshops and shorter training can also be found on the central Aurora website. If the opportunities include trips abroad, you can check the possibility of a travel grant by contacting the International Division, ask@hi.is. Aurora Student Ambassadors Students who sign up for the Ambassador programme will be offered the chance to take part in several international workshops that will boost your personal and professional development. Some examples of previous topics include sustainability, mental health, and public speaking. Additionally, students will get the chance to take part in Aurora Work Packages and work directly on the development of European higher education, in accordance with the United Nations‘ Sustainable Development Goals. The Ambassador programme also gives students the chance to apply for a variety of opportunities abroad. This academic year will feature two student conferences in addition to Aurora‘s annual conference. The Ambassador programme is easily customisable, and students can therefore adjust it to fit their field of interest and other responsibilities. The first student conference will take place from 28-29 January in Olomouc, Czechia, and the latter in June in Innsbruck, Austria. Aurora‘s annual conference will be hosted in Paris in May. Aurora Peace Talks - September through December Join us from September for the first series of Aurora Peace Talks. This lecture series will feature talks by our colleagues from Kharkiv and beyond, and allows them to share their experiences and expertise. The speakers in this lecture series come from Karazin University, but also other universities in Khakriv, as we want to provide platform for their voices to be heard in these most challenging of times. This first series in particular features talks from Kharkiv Scholars at Risk at Copenhagen Business School. The Peace Talks lecture series allows our colleagues to speak out, share their experiences but also their expertise as academics in addressing the devastation and future post-war recovery and peace-building needs. International Conference: The Role of Higher Education in Peacebuilding - 17-21 February 2025 Deadline for submission of papers: 31 October 2024 A 5-day international conference on "The Role of Higher Education in Peacebuilding," organised by Aurora Karazin University Peace Education Hub and hosted at the University of Innsbruck, from February 17–21, 2025. The conference aims to contribute to future research, theory, and practice on how higher education institutions can be drivers of conflict transformation, peacebuilding, and sustainable development. The conference features a 3 full-day programme agenda preceded by a networking day and followed by a closing day with joint working opportunities. Deadline for submission of papers: 31 October 2024.
