Twelve students study at Stanford this summer

Twelve University students will study at Stanford University in the United States this summer in a so-called Stanford Summer International Honors Program (SSIHP). SSIHP summer programme takes eight weeks and all students take accredited courses that are evaluated at the University of Iceland. 

They are: Andrea Ósk Sigurðardóttir, student in software engineering, Arnaldur Þór Guðmundsson, student in economics, Ásdís Erla Jóhannsdóttir, student in computer science, Áshildur Friðriksdóttir, student in electrical and computer engineering, Ásthildur Emma Ástvaldsdóttir, student in business administration, Björg Bjarnadóttir, student in civil and environmental engineering, Daníel Þór Guðmundsson, student in software engineering, Ingvar Þóroddsson, electrical and computer engineering, Rúna Oddsdóttir, student in business administration, Sigrún Edda Jónsdóttir, student in psychology, Stella Stefánsdóttir, student in nursing, and Viktor Ellingsson, student in chemistry. 

This is the ninth year that students at the University of Iceland have this unique opportunity to go to this distinguished university.

Stanford is one of the world’s leading research and teaching institutions. The benefits from the collaboration between Stanford and the University of Iceland are undisputed, but the agreement has been in place since 2010. The courses offered are diverse and the Icelandic students will benefit both from an intense educational experience while exploring academic life in an elite American research university.
