Student Psychology Clinic open to students, staff and their children - Available at University of Iceland

The Student Psychology Clinic has reopened after the holidays. The clinic is a training facility for master's students in clinical psychology at the University of Iceland, and it is open to University students and staff, as well as to the children of those who need assistance due to emotional difficulties.

Whom can the service help?

The clinic can usually help those struggling with:

  • Depression
  • Social anxiety
  • Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)
  • Panic disorder or anxiety attacks
  • Insomnia
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Simple phobias
  • Eating disorders
  • Alcohol- and substance abuse

... and various other issues.

But what about the children?

Counselling is offered for the children of students and staff at the University of Iceland between the ages of 3 and 18 for:

  • anxiety, phobia and obsessive-compulsive disorders
  • depression and low self esteem
  • ADHD and difficult behaviour
  • Communication and social skills training
  • Sleep deprivation

Why should I consult the Student Psychology Clinic?

  • The service fee is moderate (1,500 ISK for each interview)
  • The service is available on University campus (located in Nýi Garður)
  • Master's student in clinical psychology have achieved very good treatment outcomes.

How can I apply?

Applications are accepted through a secure platform. Applications for adults and children are separate.
