The biopharmaceutical company, Alvotech, in collaboration with the University of Iceland and the UI Network Forum, is offering a training programme for University students for the second time. The traineeship is for those who have recently graduated from the fields of biology, chemistry, biochemistry and pharmacology.
The programme is designed to train individuals for future careers in the biotech industry. The traineeship is conducted in collaboration with Research & Development at Alvotech and includes both academic and practical training. Participants gain skills in all the basic elements of analytical work, and the development and production of biopharmaceuticals.
Five individuals are accepted each time and the first group was chosen last autumn from around 100 applications. This is a five-month paid internship at Alvotech; but their headquarters are located on campus, in the Science Park. After the training programme, those who meet the training requirements will be offered a future job in the QC department.
"The first training programme, which is ongoing, has been very successful and we are currently advertising and looking for talented newly graduated individuals to join the programme in February 2022. Last time we received over 100 applications from very promising individuals and had the difficult task of selecting only five. We encourage those who are interested to apply, and we look forward to continuing the collaboration with the University of Iceland," said Ella Sigga Guðlaugsdóttir, VP of HR at Alvotech.
The application deadline for the training programme at Alvotech is 6 December and you can apply here.
