The ambitious University of Iceland Concert Series continues this spring with the one only Mugison who will feast our ears and souls on Friday 24 March at 12.15 in the Aula in the University's Main Building. Participation is free of charge and everyone is welcome. There will be a live stream from the concert.
This Icelandic musician hardly needs an introduction but here we go, nonetheless. Ever since his debut in 2002 with the record Lonely Mountain - over twenty years ago - Mugison has been in the heart and soul of the Icelandic people. Whether it be the down town hipsters in Reykjavík or your grandma out east; everyone loves this talented charmer. So enjoy Mugison as he would have put it himself!
The concert takes place on Friday 24 March at 12.15. It takes place in the beautiful University Aula in the Mainbuilding; the perfect setting. There is a live stream from the concert and a recording will be made available on the concert website. So whether you are in the city, out in the country or anywhere else in the world you can enjoy the wonderful sound from the University concert series and get a taste of the atmosphere on campus. The concert is open to all and free of charge.
About the University Concert Series
The current University concert series began in autumn 2020 with new emphasis and artists from all kinds of genre have performed. There has been a successful live stream of all the concerts and recordings can be found here.
The organiser and artistic director is Arnar Eggert Thoroddsen. He says he is guided by the slogan "University for all - Music for all". Arnar says he takes his slogan seriously and will reflect it in the programme.
