Allocation for University partnerships

Allocation for University partnerships - Available at University of Iceland

Jón Atli Benediktsson, Rector of the University of Iceland, sent the following message to University staff today:

"Dear colleagues,

Earlier today, the Minister of Universities, Industry and Innovation announced the projects that are supported by the Ministry for university partnerships. 11 projects which the University of Iceland leads received a total allocation of 729 million ISK. In addition, 10 collaborative projects with University of Iceland participation received 329 million ISK. It is clear that these are all important and high-quality projects that we are delighted to implement. For further information and an overview (in Icelandic).

It is also clear that the projects that were submitted in the name of the University of Iceland but were not accepted are excellent and the proposals were well prepared. It should be noted that universities will be able to apply for funding to collaborate with domestic universities again later this year. We at the University of Iceland will strive to make the in-house process as clear and simple as possible and provide staff support.

I want to thank the many employees who worked on ideas and made proposals for this funding that has now been allocated. The work was done just before Christmas, a time which is busy for both academic and administrative staff. I am proud of the good proposals that were sent in on behalf of the University of Iceland. These proposals reflected the good cooperation we already have with all the domestic universities and the ambition to increase such cooperation for quality purposes and the development of society.

Jón Atli Benediktsson, rector"
