Acclaimed Chinese-British artist, author, and filmmaker Xiaolu Guo will talk about Translating Culture in relation to her memoir, Once Upon a Time in the East, published by Vintage in the UK in 2017 and in Icelandic by Angústúra Publishing the same year. The lecture will be followed by a screening of Guo's documentary We Went to Wonderland on the visit of her parents to Europe.
Xiaolu Guo´s lecture is the first event in the series of lectures "Culture, language, translation" organised by the Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Institute of Foreign Languages.
The lecture will be in English.
