Matt Ridley, former science editor of the Economist and now a columnist for The Times, gives a talk and participates in discussion at the University of Iceland. Ridley is a best-selling author who wrote, among other books, The Rational Optimist, which was published in Icelandic in 2014. Among topics to be discussed are: • What is the most likely origin of the corona virus?
- Why do the Chinese authorities not want to help with the investigation?
- Does the scientific world try to silence unpleasant ideas?
- Does China pose a threat to the Western powers?
- Should the Icelandic quota system be an example for the whole world?
- Was it right for Britain to leave the European Union?
