PROGRAMME

EVENTS IN ENGLISH

The aim of the International Days is to emphasise the various international opportunities for students, teachers and staff, which are made possible through the university’s active participation in international cooperation.

Presentations of exchange studies, summer schools and traineeships abroad will be open to all students of the University of Iceland.

An emphasis will be placed on the Aurora coopearation along with the opportunities offered for students and staff through the cooperation between European universities. Universities in the Aurora cooperation will host partner webinar series Get to know your Aurora university partners where all partners will promote their university and what they have to offer. Additionally, a presentation of the Aurora Cooperation will give academic staff insight into the network’s projects and future opportunities within the alliance and how the collaboration supports the objectives of HÍ26.

Current exchange students and trainees, both in Iceland and abroad, will take over the International Division’s Instagram account and give insight into their experience and answer questions.

Students can enter a photography competition on Instagram with a chance to win a prize.

INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
The main event of the International Days is on Thursday 4 November at 11:30-13:00 at the University Centre. There students can learn about exchange studies, traineeships and summer schools, as well as further studies abroad.

Students will get the chance to speak to other students who have previously gone on an exchange and current international exchange students. Representatives from embassies and various Icelandic organisations will also be attending. The different Schools and Faculties of the University will be able to assist students and answer questions about studies abroad.

Furthermore, university staff members can learn about teacher and staff exchange programmes, along with other possibilities through Erasmus+.

Musical acts performed by Margrét Arnardóttir and Birkir Blær will bring a multicultural mood to the event.
