The interim evaluation of Sigrún Þorsteinsdóttir’s doctoral study will take place March 12 at the University of Iceland, School of Education. The title of the study:

Taste education and food skills - a food-based intervention in a school setting; with special focus on children with neurodevelopmental disorders and their families.

The evaluation is in two parts: First the doctoral student ‘s presentation of her report at 10-11 am. The presentation is open to postgraduate students and staff of the School of Education. Secondly, a review meeting for a discussion of the report. The meeting is open only to the doctoral student and the evaluation committee. The language of the presentation and the meeting will be English.

The purpose of the evaluation is twofold, as the rules of the Doctoral School indicate: To evaluate the doctoral student‘s competence in conducting the proposed doctoral research project and to provide her with feedback to do this as well as may be.

The evaluation committee consist of external examiners evaluators Dr Bryndís Eva Birgisdóttir Professor at University of Iceland, School of Health Sciences and Dr Annemarie Olsen, Associate Professor at Department of Food Science, University of Copenhagen, the supervisors Dr Anna Sigríður Ólafsdóttir Professor at University of Iceland, School of Education, Dr Urður Njarðvík Professor at University of Iceland, School of Health Sciences and Dr Ragnar Bjarnason Professor at University of Iceland, School of Health Sciences. Dr Atli Vilhelm Harðarson, Associate professor at University of Iceland, School of Education is heading the evaluation committee and will conduct the evaluation meeting. Dr Steingerður Ólafsdóttir will act as secretary.
