Migratory birds are the true indicator of spring in Iceland. Ornithologists from the University of Iceland guide the tour on a Reykjavík beach where birds gather. Sölvi Rúnar Vignisson, PhD student and teacher at the University of Iceland will lead participants in the company of other ornithologists and Jón Örn Guðbjartsson, the UI science mediator.
The birdwatching takes place on the beach by Grafarvogur where migratory birds gather in the mudflat.
The tour is part of the series "Hiking trips with Science tips" and takes about 2 hours.
Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars and even books on birds.
Participation is free of charge and everyone is welcome. No need to book - simply show up.
