The publication of Kristín Loftsdóttir‘s book Andlit til sýnis: Íslendingar og aðrir á Kanarísafninu will be celebrated at Sögufélagið, in Gunnarshús, Dyngjuvegur 8, Reykjavík, on November 28th, 2023 at 17:00.
Andlit til sýnis shows an interconnected world of the 19th century where people and nature were ranked hierarchically but this past strikes at the heart of many challenges today. The text is brought to life with vivid images that jointly give important insights into the world of curiosities, human “zoos” and tells the stories of the individuals whose busts are on display in the Canary Museum.
